Council for Work and Health - Business Plan
The aim of the business plan is to ensure that the guiding mission of the Council (below) is achieved.
In all of its activities, the guiding mission of the Council is to ensure that people have the best opportunities to benefit from the positive health impacts of employment, and that workers are not injured or made ill by the work that they undertake.
To this end, it will aim to:
- Provide necessary support to maximise opportunities for individuals to access, retain or regain employment;
- Prevent health conditions caused or made worse by work and the working environment; and
- Promote the improvement of health and wellbeing of the working age population.

The Council for Work and Health supports the recommendations of the report of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Occupational Safety and Health on the occupational medicine workforce crisis.
The Council at its meeting in September 2016 formally set up a Projects Committee chaired by Dr Robin Cordell to explore future research projects that would best make use of the great breadth of knowledge and experience of Council members.
