Update on the development of the BSI Code of Practice for Workforce Health (PAS 3002)

At the steering group meeting at BSI on 22nd November 2017, it was confirmed that the PAS circulated for public review was very well received.  Specifically, the CIPD and Cabinet Office (both of whom are represented on the steering group) have publicly expressed their support for and approval of the code of practice.

In addition the What Works for Wellbeing programme (funded by the ESRC) has welcomed this initiative and has commissioned the production of 2 health and wellbeing case studies to be included in this PAS (due for completion in Dec 2017), to supplement the two that have already been provided.

Two employer organisations in Sri Lanka have already asked for consultation input to support their initiatives in this area, based upon the contents of this circulated Code of Practice.

It is probable that this code of practice (which is the form used when a relatively quick development timeline is required) will build into a more fully developed International Standard in the area of Health and Wellbeing of the Workforce.

The final code of practice is due for publication in April 2018.
